Exciting times for Gee’s
Gee’s, our fabulous Victorian conservatory restaurant that has served residents, academics, students & visitors faithfully since it was restored in 1983, will be undergoing a radical & exciting change in January 2013.
The new look will reflect the origins of Gee’s; we will fill the conservatory with plants & vegetables – the purpose for which it was originally designed. The interior will become more informal with trees, colour, lighting & new furniture with a central table to display ingredients & dishes. The bar will serve food as well as drinks & be a welcoming place to stop by throughout the day. The outside terraces will be surrounded by an abundance of topiary, trees & plants, some of which will be for sale.
The most important aspect will of course be the new menu which will acknowledge the rapidly growing interest in the source of ingredients, whenever possible these will be seasonal & local. Many of our dishes will be for sharing & available in two sizes. We aim to offer flexibility with our menu pricing – so that customers can choose how little or how much they wish to spend.
As ever our managers, waitresses & waiters will reflect the more informal approach but remain extremely personable, efficient & very knowledgeable.
More will be revealed on the news pages of Gee’s website or follow us on twitter & facebook.
