The Old Parsonage Hotel, 2014 and beyond..
Twenty five years ago Jeremy Mogford purchased the lease of this guest house built in the 1600s restoring its original features to create a luxury hotel in the city centre. A full refurbishment to include the creation of five new bedrooms & a roof top library will be unveiled to the public in spring 2014.
Each of the 35 bedrooms will be designed by Sally Conran using 100% natural materials, wools, linens & velvets. Colours are inspired by the current Parsonage guest areas, plum, deep red & grey. All bathrooms will be fitted with Carrara marble & designed by Martina Landhed.
The existing roof terrace will become a spectacular glass fronted library with its own walled garden for our hotel residents to relax, read and talk.
The restaurant & bar will retain its intimate clubby, bohemian atmosphere with an enhanced collection of oil portraits from the Bloomsbury period, this look will extend into the Pike Room. We will continue to serve a menu of great, classic British cooking with a modern touch – a state of the art kitchen with a dedicated pastry area will consolidate our position as Oxford’s number one destination for afternoon tea in the city.
The Old Parsonage has maintained a reputation as an iconic refuge in the centre of this vibrant, bustling city. The refurbished Parsonage will preserve & enhance the qualities that are so loved by our eclectic & interesting following of loyal customers.
